Signing of the Golden Book at Montreal City Hall recognizes the JGH’s outstanding contribution to the city and its people.

On October 8, 1934, Lord Bessborough, the Governor General of Canada, opened the JGH at a ceremony that was widely covered by the French and English press.

Launched in 2022, Hospital@Home enables qualified patients to finish recovering at home, while being monitored via digital technology.

Launched in 1912, the Herzl Dispensary provided care to Montreal’s growing Jewish population and served as a forerunner of the JGH.

In 2016, after years of planning and construction, Pavilion K became the new focal point of the JGH’s critical-care and surgical activities.

At a crucial meeting in February 2020, dozens of senior JGH healthcare professionals finalized plans to admit the first COVID-19 patients.

In 1929, more than 3,000 members of the Jewish community gathered to launch the $1 million campaign to build the JGH.

Launched in 1936, The Auxiliary raised funds and organized volunteers to help support the fledgling JGH.

After the devastating ice storm in January 1998, the JGH sheltered many people whose homes had lost electricity.

In 1969, the Lady Davis Institute opened at the JGH and went on to become one of Quebec’s leading facilities for medical research.
