CIUSSS West-Central Montreal named one of Montreal’s Top Employers
Nearly four years after CIUSSS West-Central Montreal came into existence in April 2015, it has been named one of Montreal’s Top Employers.
This makes the healthcare network one of only about 50 organizations in the Montreal area—and the only CIUSSS in Quebec—to have been singled out in this way, as determined in a local edition of the annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top Employers.
According to Dr. Lawrence Rosenberg, President and CEO of the CIUSSS, “fulfilling the needs of healthcare users can be our top priority only if we simultaneously ensure that the 10,000 employees in our network are satisfied with their working conditions and with the programs that we have put in place to support them.”
Recognition for the CIUSSS is a reflection of its outstanding performance in eight key categories:
- physical workplace
- work atmosphere and social health
- financial and family benefits
- vacation and time off
- employee communications
- performance management
- training and skills development
- community involvement
Other factors that made a significant difference in the selection process among Montreal organizations included the availability of internal and online leadership training, mentoring, paid internships, management succession programs, flexible work hours, telecommuting opportunities and retirement planning assistance.
Dr. Rosenberg acknowledged the efforts of the Human Resources team for its ongoing innovations and improvements in services to staff. He also said this accomplishment “would not have been possible without the cooperation among members of the Board of Directors, as well as the participation and collaboration of managers and staff, that has been a hallmark of our CIUSSS since its earliest days.
