Dr. Michael Hier honoured for undergraduate teaching

Dr. Michael Hier, JGH Chief of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, has received the Harvey H. Sigman Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award from the Department of Surgery at McGill University.

Dr. Hier, who is a Professor of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology at McGill, joined the JGH in 1996 and has been Chief since 2011.

The award is named for Dr. Harvey Sigman, who died recently after serving at the JGH for 56 years, including in his roles as Chief of the Division of General Surgery and Director of Surgical Education.

Promising outlook for new pancreatic cancer treatment pioneered at the JGH

At a news conference at the Jewish General Hospital, Health Minister Sonia Bélanger presents Dr. Lawrence Rosenberg, President and CEO of the Santé Québec West-Central Montreal Health and Social Services University Network, with a document that officially designates the hospital as a Centre hospitalier universitaire.
