The garb and appearance of surgeons and surgical nurses of the 1930s and ’40s may seem a little odd to 21st-century eyes. But what really mattered was that within the first decade of its launch, the JGH was already providing patients with the most advanced treatment and the most up-to-date surgical techniques of that era. That tradition continues today.
The Jewish General Hospital’s 85th anniversary is an ideal occasion to take a glimpse into the past. By remembering the extraordinary efforts of the hospital’s founders, supporters, staff and volunteers, we honour the enduring legacy of the JGH.
