With the 80th-anniversary celebration of The Auxiliary now under way, we would like to express our deep gratitude to the many preceding generations of women whose hard work and dedication have enabled today’s Auxiliary to do so much for the patients of the JGH.
Commemoration of the JGH’s 80th anniversary concluded on a high note in the National Assembly on November 5, 2014, as Pierre Arcand, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and the Member for Mount Royal, read a declaration congratulating the hospital on its decades of achievement.
A large bilingual poster, recounting many of the JGH’s proudest achievements in recent years, is on view in the main lobby as part of the year-long celebration of the hospital’s 80th anniversary.
JGH marks milestone 80th anniversary: Tree-planting symbolizes JGH’s deep roots and its sheltering branches
In recognition of the commitment and ideals that the founders of the JGH embraced when the hospital opened in 1934, an oak tree now graces the Côte-des-Neiges entrance, marking the JGH’s 80th anniversary.
