Commemoration of the JGH’s 80th anniversary concluded on a high note in the National Assembly on November 5, 2014, as Pierre Arcand, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and the Member for Mount Royal, read a declaration congratulating the hospital on its decades of achievement.
Working closely with a monitor appointed by the provincial government, the Jewish General Hospital is embarking on a strategy to eliminate its deficit and trim its operating expenditures. The monitor, Dr. Michel Bureau, has already played a similar role in assisting the MUHC.

In recognition of the commitment and ideals that the founders of the JGH embraced when the hospital opened in 1934, an oak tree now graces the Côte-des-Neiges entrance, marking the JGH’s 80th anniversary.
