
Determination to give of herself spurs Naomi Weiss to keep volunteering at age 96
At 96, Naomi Weiss has been volunteering for over 33 years in a psychosocial group at the JGH’s Institute of Community and Family Psychiatry. She has loved giving of herself, ever since she began volunteering as a teenager at a hospital in Israel.

Making the rounds with man’s – and woman’s and patient’s and employee’s – best friend
Pet therapy is back at the JGH, with dogs like Zodiak regularly visiting patients to provide comfort and reduce stress. The specially certified dogs are also a hit among staff who look forward to his visits.

Dr. Roberta Shear, a member of the JGH Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2000, has been named Director of Obstetrics, the Family Birthing Centre and Obstetrical Ultrasound.
