Butterflies, Hope & Cope’s uplifting symbol, took to the air by the dozens on July 3, 2007, at the climax of inaugural ceremonies for the JGH Hope & Cope Wellness Centre.

There’s some unusually eye-popping appeal to this spring’s display of flowers and greenery in the garden of the JGH Hope & Cope Wellness Centre.

One of Hope & Cope’s newest initiatives, the Breast & Bone Health Program, identifies women who have had breast cancer and are at risk for bone fragility.

Hope & Cope has been so successful at upgrading and diversifying its services during the past several years that its website has now also been revitalized to keep pace with the many changes.

More than 30 years after cancer patients and survivors began benefiting from the desperately needed comfort, advice and support of Hope & Cope, Sheila Kussner, O.C., O.Q., was formally honoured for founding the internationally renowned organization.

Having extended specialized assistance to young adults and to the parents of young children, Hope & Cope has now launched the 70+ Club for older individuals.

The JGH Hope & Cope Wellness Centre’s gym has been expanded to accommodate the growing number of individuals seeking the benefits of a personalized exercise program during or soon after their treatment for cancer.

The laughter was catching on July 24, as several stars of the Just for Laughs festival made a side trip to entertain a standing-room-only crowd of 90 at the JGH Hope & Cope Wellness Centre (Lou’s House).
