Opioid addiction is target of new JGH guidelines

As the toll of opioid addiction grows, new JGH guidelines have been approved to reduce the maximum amount of opioid medication that some surgery patients receive when discharged from the hospital.

Link found between pain reliever
and hypoglycemia

Tramadol, a weak opioid for treating moderate to moderately severe pain, can be linked in some cases to an increased risk of hospitalization for hypoglycemia, concludes a study by a team of epidemiologists in the Lady Davis Institute at the JGH.
