The JGH’s Hospital Elder Life Program has won an award from Desjardins, recognizing the way intensively trained volunteers—supported by Multidisciplinary Services, Nursing and Geriatrics—enhance the quality of care for hospitalized seniors.
Screening rate for delirium surges at JGH
Rates have risen dramatically in our push to screen elderly hospitalized patients for delirium. This means their underlying medical conditions can be diagnosed more quickly, with better odds of lowering their risk for functional or cognitive decline.
